What would it look like??(part 2)
My last post I asked the question...or tried to ask the question, "What would the church look like if it was exactly as Christ intended it to be". I realize this question is kind of like asking ' how would a person behave if he was exactly as Christ intended him to be?'. Every person, like every church, will have peculiarities and things that set them apart and make them unique. The 'look' or 'feel' of each church should be as distinct and different as each person worshiping within that body. BUT! The 'Perfect' church would also have a common pulse. The blood running through the veins of this perfect 'Body' would eagerly be spilt for Jesus. The heart would pound at the thought of His return. This Body would have dinstictive characteristics just as any Christ-loving, regenerated radical would have. So what characteristics would define this radical portion of the the body of Christ? That is my question. Can it be recreated? Perfectly....No. Just as every human is flawed and sinful, we can't expect a group of these humans to be anything other than what they are. We must continue to seek Christ with all our hearts, and continue to seek out ways to more effectively reach a lost and dying world. The Church is this world's '...last best hope...'
